What is Solution Focused Hypnotherapy?
Einstein was quoted as saying, “You can’t solve a problem with the same mind that created it”. This is why Solution Focused Hypnotherapy is so successful at empowering people as they change their mindsets to those of positive thinkers. This positivity allows people to meet their potential and to live happily and fully.
Rooted in neuroscience, solution-focused hypnotherapy is a combination of psychotherapy and hypnosis. It uses the principle of focusing on solutions rather than problems to help individuals uncover their innate strengths and resources to overcome challenges.
How can Solution Focused Hypnotherapy help and support you?
Where we focus our energy, energy flows and grows. Positive thinking attracts positive things into one’s life and this should be one’s natural state of being and doing. Solution-Focused Hypnotherapy is a non-invasive and gentle therapy that can be used to help people overcome negative thinking, mental health problems and psychological issues. It has been shown to be effective for a wide range of issues, such as, anxiety, depression and low mood, panic attacks, low self-esteem, eating disorders, stress, phobias, smoking cessation, sleep, menopause and even weight loss.
What to expect:
The first session will be an initial consultation. This is where we will discuss your goals and what you hope to achieve from therapy. We will go through a simple explanation of how your brain works and how you can take back control of how you think by affecting the chemistry of your brain.
Subsequent sessions will involve talking about the positives and what has gone well between sessions, including any positive resources you have that could help you achieve your goals. A technique called ‘scaling’ will be used every session as a guide on how much progress you are making. Other techniques are also used during sessions to help you solve your problems and to change your perceptions of the world around you so that you are thinking and behaving in a more positive way.
During the hypnosis part of the session, you will relax and enter into a state of focused attention. Once you’re in this relaxed trance state, the subconscious mind is more open to change. You will be given a series of suggestions and new ideas to help bring about positive change. Many clients find this deeply relaxed state very enjoyable and though extremely relaxed and calm you will be aware of everything around you at all times. You will be given a recording to listen to regularly between sessions as part of your therapy.
As this is a brief therapy, in just a few sessions you should start to notice some positive changes in your life as unhelpful thought patterns become diminished. You may also feel calmer and more in control of your life.
Sessions last about 1 hour and cost £50.
Between 6 to 12 sessions are recommended.
A Smoking Cessation session lasts 2 hours and costs £100.
